Faculty Development Grants - Now Online!
No more applications “lost in the mail” or sitting in someone’s to-do basket. You will enter your application in a web form and it will be saved in the District Intranet. Applications are stored in this central server and reviewed by Faculty Development Advisory Committee members from their offices.
Individual grants are used to go to a conference or attend a class or workshop (up to $550 per year).
Presenter grants are earmarked for faculty giving presentations at national or international events (up to $800 every other year).
Group grants can fund group professional development events up to $400 for events that serve a single campus. Events that serve the entire district can be supported up to $1000.

Tips for filling out the application
- Apply before your activity begins.
- Please include documentation for the activity and fees.
- Ask your division staff to prepare a travel requisition form before you leave on your trip.
- If funds will be used for airfare: get help from your division staff immediately so state regulations are followed. Airfare must be purchased with the state issued US Bank credit card. To apply for this card, contact your campus business office and please allow minimum 30 days prior to travel date. Should travel occur before this, talk to your division staff about the possibility of your department prepaying the airfare.
After your activity
You will create and send a report as an email message or a separate file attached to an email message to fd@sccd.ctc.edu. Please include the following information in your report:
- Your name
- The grant number (if known)
- The activity and its dates
- A summary of the activity (the sessions you attended, the learning that took place, etc.)
- A recommendation to other faculty who might attend in the future
