e-Learning

e-Learning curriculum grants - The District e-Learning Program has allocated funds for faculty stipends to create new or revised online courses, with preference given for new courses developed by faculty teams (either faculty from two or three district colleges and/or a team of an experienced online course developer with an instructor new to online teaching). Faculty must commit to completing all course development activities by the first week of June to be considered for funding. Grants will be awarded to

  • Develop a new online course ($3,000 stipend per course; amount to be shared equally by faculty team)
  • Revise an existing online course (up to $1,800 stipend per course; amount to be shared equally by faculty team)
Guidelines and applications for the 2010-2011 year will be available on the district intranet starting Fall Quarter - InsideSeattleColleges.com.

e-learning student evaluations - You may order evaluations for your online classes from the SCCD Intranet http://InsideSeattleColleges.com.  Login with your Outlook email and password. Click Instruction, Evaluations - e-Learning, then Order Evaluations and complete the three steps. Your students will receive the evaluation in an email message which will be sent to the address they have on file.

Note:  This evaluation process is not set up for WAOL courses.

Here are some suggestions to help ensure students will receive the evaluation and to encourage them to fill it out and submit it.

    • Before you order your evaluations, ask your students to update their email address in the system. Have them go to http://www.seattlecolleges.edu/onlineservices.aspx. From here select Campus, then under Personal Info select Update your address, email or phone. They will be asked to type their SID and PIN.
    • After you order your evaluations, tell your students that they should receive one in an email message.
    • If a student doesn’t receive an evaluation, ask them to send you a preferred email address. You can send them an individual evaluation using their preferred email address.
    • Tell students that the evaluations are anonymous and you won’t be able to view them until after you’ve submitted your grades.
